Mossel Bay, Western Cape
A new administration and student campus for one of the foremost helicopter aviation training academies in Africa. The accommodation was to cater for 200 students situated in a landscape of rural, low-rise buildings. With the main focus being on the training of helicopter pilots, the students train and study for fixed periods of time. Vistas over the landscape towards the Outeniqua Mountains were the focus for the buildings and spatial living towards the north. The surrounding context of secluded small holdings was the inspiration for the building forms.
